vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

>bottom left > request credits
put 4 and request. Only do this 1 time, it is not instantaneous.

 

Luckily I already requested them prior to the purchase because I didn't know how the process worked.

I had originally purchased an additional 4 credits for a second ECU, but only had 5 showing in my vF Tuner License Information. I just followed the above instructions and requested the additional 4 that I already purchased. Should I have done things this way, or did I jump the gun here?

Edit - already downloaded and edited the file in VF for the alternator output settings. Flashing now - will report back

Edit 2 - all good. idling now after clearning LV and DTC values. Alternator showing 14.6 @ the ecu

Thank you OVTune! I just flashed SFOB Premium through VF Tuner's P5Flash. At first I thought that I had to edit it in VF but I figured out how to just flash it after looking through the instructions. I was confused because the v5f files wouldn't even display in the OVTune original P5Flash program and windows defender removed the VFTuner program because I was rashedly clicking buttons in the quarantine section (Remove and Restore are so similar when I looked through the 10+ entries).

Nevertheless, it is loaded and I will take it out when I take the daughter to summer school.

PS- Thanks also go out to Tonered and Shellshock for always posting objective advice despite some of the hating that gets spit out here. I hope that there isn't another TSB for MT ECU's for a while!

just flashed superfob on b14 - do i reset LV and AT with the engine on, or just with the keys in the ignition? letting it idle right now for a few minutes before taking it for a spin

**edit ** for reference i tried resetting values immediately after flashing w/o turning the car on first, or disconnecting, and it said it was unsuccessful

 

Same procedure as flashing. Ignition On, engine off.

I set my ECT to 95. When I went to 96, I was getting 14.9 at the battery

 

In the future, what's an average wait time we should expect? From requesting the credits in the program and paying for them on your website, to having them available in vFT.

A couple days ago I got an email with a link for ecu downloads. There was an error with the link. I replied to that email. I have already sent in the calibration numbers. Is there a fix to get the tune pack or am I still I. A holding pattern.

 

@b3itz - I have updated my 2017 to 2.0 latest OVTune drop and want to do the VFTune Alternator update. My question is, if I update with the 14.6 settings, won't it revert my ROM back to stock ROM? I think it will but was curious if there was a way to only update the alternator portion of the ROM code. No worries and I assumed so -

 

Yes, the 2.0 with my 4.88's and 92 octane is great. Here is another upgrade I've opted out:

Hey man, so it turns out that those files aren't up to par anyway. I flashed one and it didn't work well. I sent a helpdesk ticket and was told I have to get the new new off the website.

Just download the zipfile for your ECU

 

You have to add the alternator settings to your tune file using vf tuner. You’ve got to actually modify the tune (or find a friend to share theirs)
