I wired them to my corner lights, drilled a hole in the grille and hot glued them to the grille.

Hahaha, well they look good either way. I have a 17 Trd OR with those rims and I love them. I didn't like them blacked out on the 3rd Gens though. It's what you like is all that matters...or what she likes LOL. Any smart man would have painted them black. :)

They sell some stickers that cover them perfect. Actually a little too perfect, because you have to put them on exact or else chrome still shows. I’d go with paint. Either plasti dip, or sand them then use regular paint.

There’s a pretty good video from Speedys garage on YouTube. But I follow the account “nomadretrofits” on IG and he actually helped me as I was building them. Super helpful guy!

Sweet rig man! The red looks good. Mines an 04 and plan on doing a similar build. Just got some retrofits and couldn’t be happier!

At least it’s not gold....haha the color is growing on me too. And thanks! I was going to go with Nomad but decided going for the smaller guy AB Retrofits. Next I want to build an internal support for my topper so it’ll hold a roof top tent. Maybe wheels and tires first though haha. Also got the OME 3 inch with leaf packs

That should be a sweet build. I actually really like the gold tacos!

The first thing I had to do was get rid of the side decals and the chrome trimming on the door. So I went to work. The sticker decals on the side were probably the hardest thing to ever get off. It got to the point I just grabbed an ice scrapper and scrapped away - and found out the paint on these trucks sticks like glue!

After a few good hours of scrubbing, I was able to successfully remove all the adhesive and stickers from the truck completely.

The next thing I needed to do was add some new tires since these were almost completely bald. I did some research and found that the Nitto Ridge Grapplers were a pretty aggressive A/T tire and went with those. 265/70/16.

By the time I got the new tires on and the paint buffed and cleaned up I started to really get a vision for the truck. I wasn't really a fan of the tires being tucked in under the fender so I went and bought myself 1.25" Spydertrax Wheel Spacer and installed those. It doesn't seem like much, but it was definitely better than stock.
