Dang.. that bottle looks old by the tag around the neck!! It's definitely an older version of the label

If that’s true, very odd. I don’t remember seeing that bottle last time I was there

You actually interested in it? I can run by tomorrow and pick a bottle up. PM me if you want to try and work out some details

That’s the label I’m used to seeing. After a quick search on the internet, it does appear the picture I uploaded is an old label. Confirmed from a 2009 bottle

    Also, cheers.

tastes pretty similar to normal buffalo trace from what I remember. It’s been a while since I’ve had buffalo trace though. This might have a little more burny burn and tastes like it’s at a higher proof than it is

I'll have to pass on that one... Too close on the general collection to fall down another rabbit hole if that makes sense...

Not sure I posted this here or in my Whiskey Cabinet thread but I have a few holes to fill first.
Appreciate the heck out of the offer tho!!

I had a store pick last year and distinctly remember it being the smoothest BT I'd ever had (not realizing it was even a store pick). Then when I nearly finished the bottle I saw the sticker lol

Went back for more and of course they were long gone.

Taking a moment to do a quick check of my fishing barrel. Yesterday I bottled some Madeira wine that I had been aging in this little cask for a few months and put some Laphroaig CS batch 11 in its place to put a wine finish on it, sorta like recreating the Laphroaig Cairdeas Madeira Cask bottle from 2016. It's been in there for about 30 hours and has already seen a drastic change. Gone are the bright green leaf/ tree sapling tones from the nose and palate, and in its place is a savory meaty note akin to some of the fancy Ardbegs.

I'm going to let it keep finishing in the barrel for a bit and will likely bottle tomorrow or Saturday after I decide it's ready to go. I've used this cask quite a bit and I'm just now getting the hang of it. Luckily I've got this second bottle to compare from or to blend into the finished whisky if it takes on too much Madeira.

Left glass is some of the Madeira, middle is pure Laphroaig 10 CS Batch 11, and W.T.F. is from the mini barrel.

Very cool! I'm just getting into researching custom blends. Lots of intriguing stuff out there.

Curious to see how close you can get it :fingerscrossed::fistbump:

Technically it's a Jim Beam glass... Part of a boxed set, but the store sells them separately too so I didn't have to buy a bottle of JB to get the glass with my initials.IMG_20200618_162016534.jpg
