What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Might want to check to make sure the 3/4" shackle bolt fits through first. I had to take a die grinder to both of mine. To make it fit. Appeared the pieces were off a little when they welded it together.

 

Just doing the doors and back cab wall help a ton. I’m 100% on doing the roof next though, it’s a lot of work but I think noico plus second skins melamine foam will kill a ton of road noise.

I think you quoted the wrong guy. But if you're asking why his fenders are the way they are, I think his is an SR or SR5 model as they do not come with the flares. You can remove the flares on the TRD models but I think you'd have to fill some holes.

Edit #1: I think I'm wrong on the SR5 not coming with flares. I think maybe the SR doesn't come with flares.

 

That's SR.... I had SR5 that has same color matched flares as Sport.

 

Haha you’re right, I should make better use out of it and turn it into a tire swing.

 

Headliner removal is in my near future and I'm dreading it.

Are you saying you'd use both the Noico AND Second Skin on the roof, or just the later?

Just added one to my truck bout a week ago

 

We've been over this. 2020s have the black knob. Pay attention.

 

Both, because each does a different job.

The Noico (and other butyl rubber tiles like dynamat, etc) are there to reduce panel resonance. For the roof, think about how loud it is when it rains. Noico will make the panel resonate less and make less Impact noise.

The foam is to absorb sounds like wind noise. I figure if you’re there you might as well do both.

I’m actually planning on doing the floors with Noico and MLV/CCF at the same time. Might get to it towards the end of summer, might be a next spring project.

Note: I did buy the slim visors.
