So I went to discount tire today to buy a matching tire for my spare today. Just noticed when I got home that they gave me a E Load rated tire instead of an SL.

I know I won’t be running the spare all the time, but I was thinking about rotating it in, should I get them to exchange it?

The tires are Falken Wildpeak AT3W 265/75R16

Also, I got them to price match the price of my original 4 SL tires, that’s why I didn’t notice the difference until I got home. LOL.

I ONLY buy e rated tires for my trucks. I don't get this whole "they ride harsh" argument. They kick ass. That is what they do.

If you plan to rotate, then yes, have it exchanged. It won't make a huge difference, but its not the same tire.

It is a spare...come on man. You might give it to a passer by, if you are a good person...

It could cause the truck to feel out of balance since one is heavier than the other i would go exchange it

Exchange it, it's not a matching tire. You don't want to rotate one E-rated tire with 3 SL tires. No reason to keep it.

True, but he did say " but I was thinking about rotating it in". If he keeps the E-tire that's not really an option, and is just a spare.

Yep, but it is not a "spare" if you are using it the way I figure it.

I appreciate the input. I guess I’m going to call tomorrow and get it swapped.
