One of our members is trying to rip me off!

I sold a backup camera to one of our forum members. It was from a friends '09 truck. He had the camera but not the mirror and needed the cash. I hooked up the camera to my truck to make sure that it was working before I listed it.

So the guy who bought it has an '07 truck and he was going to try to custom wire it to his truck. He tried to wire it up and couldn't figure it out. So he buys an aftermarket backup camera and hooks that up. Then, he makes a PayPal claim saying that I sold him a backup camera that didn't work when he received it!! It worked when I sent it to him and, if it's not working now, he probably screwed it up when he was trying to custom wire it!!!

What do you guys think I should do? Sounds like I'm about to get screwed!!

Contact him and confront him. If he wants his money back then you should get the camera back.

If he tries to be shiesty then out his name

I figure that either he screwed it up and shorted it out or he simply can't figure out how to wire it up. I told him to hook it up to one of his buddies trucks and, if he hasn't screwed it up, he should sell it himself. Why the hell should I have to take it back and resell it. He knew that, when he was going to try a custom install, he might not be able to get it to work. This sucks!!!!

OP- Get in touch with the other member, feel free to copy some or all of the mods on the conversations, and talk to paypal at your first chance.

If it's not resolved after the "due process", we'll revisit this thread.
