Hoo ray!! I finally got the interior LED installed! after having some diffculty getting them to all light upproperly(problem was mismatched bulbs blew fuse & caused some other issues) everything is fine now.but I still had a a little trouble, reinstalling the plastic lenses back on( esp. the map light plastics). the passenger side was being ahuge female dog not snapping back on & aligning properly! I noticed I had bent the crap out of one of the 4 pins that catch/hold the plastic lense. I didnt want to keep forcing it on & completely snap that pin off. so I came up with a simple little hack to make life a little easier. the plastic catches on the lense are tiny u -shapedclips with teeth on the ends to hold the pins. I got an old emory board & filed don the inner "clip/teeth" so they would slipp over the pins easier, then it donned on me, LUBE! (thanks to my exgirlfriend!lol), I smeared some vasoline over the pins & clips, and "Snap/slipped" right on! no fuss ,no muss and smooth as butter operation! I figured swapping out the bulbs would be so easy! but it just goes to show, Always use the right tools & parts and lube always makes things easier, or you can be in for some big headaches! at first I was more nervous about removing the plastics (some seemed very stubborn) I was afraid of breaking them or surrounding components.
Overall all it is a very simple mod, that I complicated by using mismatched parts off Amazon, luckily I ordered a matched set from Tacomabeast, but shipping was slow, because of covid. I just got impatient & wanted different colors.
It was a nightmare when trying to install something so easy, & things start go south! like all the interior lights stop working & the clock. you panic, thinking what did i do? i just switched bulbs! ughh! you figure you blew a circuit board & have to go to the dealer & pay up to fix!
I trusted amazon "this fits your car" thingy on their site, only to get burned when it doesnt work! it was a strange, stressful experience. Im just glad I never had to take it in to the dealer & screw me even harder! but i'd like to say thanks to everyone who pitched in & helped me out! THanks Again & thank GOD!
