I've made a bunch of grilled cheeses in mine.
    #1 I don't just butter the outside.
#2 use a lower temp and don't be afraid to check on it.. Feel free to flip it to ensure both sides get crispy.

In reference to #1 I mix 1/4 cup of butter, 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese, a pinch of freshly cracked black pepper and a few drops of olive oil to bring the mixture all together. Spread the mixture just like you would butter on the outside and reference #2 above.

Note this mixture works with cooking them in a pan etc.. tho if using a stainless steel pan, you're better off spraying it with cooking spray or coating pan with Crisco or bacon fat.

What did you put on the outside of the bread? I switched from butter to mayo and like it better.

Made some of those tater tot crowns in the air fryer, then topped it with scrambled eggs with a boatload of cheese in them, chopped ham and then topped with sour cream and salsa.

Considering the fact that mayo is disgusting, I won’t be trying that. I used butter, just think I had the temp too high

The mayo basically melts away. I tried a regular grilled cheese and i couldnt really taste the mayo.

most restaurants use mayo and never tell anyone.. it's for color more than taste.. I've tried them all and prefer the mixture I mentioned above

Well look... I think I've made it clear I like to play with my food...

A few tater tots started in the air fryer (400F for 12 min) then about half way through some left over pulled pork and a little sauce to carmelize on the top.

Think KFC bowl without the F... So just a KC Bowl started with a layer of tater tots, shredded Colby Jack cheese a dash of Ranch dressing and topped with pulled pork.. then layered the same way again!
