    ppssshhhhh.

If it isnt directly prejudicial to good order and discipline, discretion is a great part of leadership.

This one time, in Haiti, something like this may have been done by my team leader and a local.

Lots of drug deals in the military, but not the kind most would think...

Aint that the truth. I'll just say that I know of a SeaBee BN that did lots of builds off the books for units who had stuff to trade.
Heck, I built a BBQ grill for a motorcycle, and a concrete block to load test a Blackhawk hoist to get a friend a ride.

Our commo guy hooked the head cook at Benning up with a landline that could not only get off post but also make international calls. We had a big BBQ compliments of Uncle Sugar every month for almost a year until someone started to figure out who the hell was calling some chick in Germany damn near every day.

Drug deals are part of life in the service. Without them we’d have never gotten anything done.

Sometime around 1976 the swine flu hit. The base I was at had the mandatory vaccine for all personnel. A few days later we couldn't have launched an alert F-4 if WW III had started. They had to bring in some ANG guy in F-102's (I think). To handle alert.

He said "was happy to get", not needed.
and you're an idiot if you think those men in north Africa would have refused a/c had it been an option.

Hey, we don't all get extra pay for substandard living conditions when all that is available is a 4 star hotel.
Having slept in spaces made of sandbag walls with plywood on top, even this GI isn't dumb enough to pass on the opportunity to have AC in the desert.

Hell I’ve been in the desert sleeping on a cot in a tent wearing a Coast Guard uniform. Where aircon was available it would take someone dumber than me to say no thanks.

I could too but I really don't like chocolate and wine that much. Now if she has ammo we can probably work a deal!
