Skid Plate and LCA

    I notice that stock OR skid plate / splash guard and the TRD Pro skid plate both protect the LCA where it connects to the frame, but not all aftermarket skid plates have the same protection for the LCA. I assume the protection is mostly or loose debris like small rocks and sticks as opposed to larger more solid rocks because the panel isn't really secured well. How important do you think that protection is?

    You can get LCA skids from a lot of suppliers, in both steel and aluminum. I can only think of Greenlane off-road and Rago Fabrication, but I know there are more out there. Some people argue that they aren’t necessary though.

    Be careful though, since many aftermarket LCA skids are not compatible with certain front skid plates. For example, I didn’t do enough research and bought a pair of RCI LCA skid plates however they are not compatible with the TRD Pro front skid.
