Just got a Lomax bed cover (https://www.agricover.com/lomax/) from a local truck accessory shop (~$900). Installed with a buddy in about an hour. Really simple process, installed mounting rails onto the existing railing with some L brackets. I did not have to remove or move them. Sits super flush, all aluminum, quick removal. Fold it up, and unlatch, and pull out . Had it for a couple weeks and love it so far. I will post an update after I drive through a few monsoons.

After a car wash, just some spray by the tailgate and a few drips in the corners. I have not done any weather proofing, just the standard install. So not water proof but no major leaks so far.

Looks great! So just to clarify, you can use the factory rails and Lomax supplies mounting rails that attach to the factory rails?

That is right! See photos of mount points.
The rear goes into the bolt by the tailgate.

And then two go into the railing about 1/3 and all the way back. There is not much space so I did not out the sliding rail nobs back in. It might be possible but they would be hard to move once in..

Good stuff! I am now in the market for a hard cover for my Tacoma. I am seriously considering the Lomax. Are you satisfied with your purchase? Is it durable and how is it doing in regards to water repulsion?

I have been in a couple heavy rains and so far water has not invaded the bed. The construction is sturdy and it is durable enough for me. It's aluminum and the black rails and hooks attached under the cover (not the railing on the truck, but the black metal that hooks into the railing) looks to be industrial glued on vice bolted. I would recommend closing the bed cover with the tailgate open, then closing the tail gate. I slammed the bed cover shut a few times with the tailgate closed and the under railing on one side gained about 5 mm of play. TLDR; Cosmetically it looks great, keeps the rain out, but it is not super durable. It is fine for me as I only use it to cover suitcases etc. If you want something tough, I'd choose a different cover.
