When I accelerate from a stop, and reach between 30 and 40 mph, intermittently it will feel like I am skipping on the road. Kind of like when you hit a bunch of lines on the road. Can't figure out what is going on. Anyone else having this problem?

If it were me I would check or ask:

1- Any lift or driveline angle changes before the feeling, which could be driveline vibes?

2- how are the u joints? High mileage without routine lube?

3- front could be causing the shimmy as well- how are the front wheel bearings? Jack up the front end and check for bearing play.

4- if you shift into 4wd, does the feeling still exist? Front diff vibes are not uncommon and usually not present with 4wd. Same goes for driver side needle bearing, but that is a more cyclical grinding noise.

5- does it feel like the steering wheel is solid? The slip joint on the steering shaft is a notorious issue with seizing, but more of a binding issue with stiff steering-not really what you are describing.
