Just got this 06 taco trd sport. It has some race runners on front It rides smooth but I hit certain bumps it hits hard. Hat would y'all recomend rebuilding or going with another brand?

Is there something wrong with the racerunners themselves? Do they actually need rebuilding? Leaking, bad joints, etc. or are they just setup for off-road use and are stiffer than you are used to?

I honestly don't know these shocks are above my pay grade I see no leaking etc. They may load and hit harder than I'm used to.

Maybe some pictures would help them and a part number of you can find one. That might help determine if they need to be rebuilt.

On a side note, what type of use are you looking to get out of your truck?

From the minimal research I’ve done on the SAW race runners, they are notoriously stiff. And if they’ve been on the truck since 06’ with off-road use they most likely need rebuilding.

If rebuilding isn’t something you’re interested in, you could go with a new coilover. I’d give Headstrong off-road a call and see what they recommend.

These are reAlly stuff and have no clue how long they have been on the truck. Did yota use them as a stock package? The only local shop that I'd true to touch them around here said prolly 5 hours to rebuild them at 72.50 a hour plus 250 for the rebuild kit plus tax and shipping. So looking at around 700 for a rebuild. Ive always used rough country products on all my other 4x4. But idk anyone that's ran there products on yotas

Doubt its worth your time or money to rebuild then. Look into some Bilstein 5100s
