Nerf Bar Pads

I've been following this forum for quite a few years and have benefited from the information available. I finally joined in hopes of getting an answer to a somewhat obscure question(s).

I bought my first Tacoma (TRD, double cab, short bed) in 2006. I got it with nerf bars installed (or "tube steps" as they're listed on the window sticker). They're 5-inch by 3-inch oval. When I traded for my 2012 Tacoma, I had the dealer transfer the bars to the new truck.

After almost 10 years of use, they look pretty sad, appearance-wise. I pulled them off with the intention of getting them powder coated, and found that there's no way to get the plastic foot pads off without destroying them. I've been searching replacements, and even the few vendors that list dimensions don't seem to have the proper size: 28-inch long by 5-inch wide.
Can't find any manufacturer mark anywhere on the tubes or pads.

Does anyone know who the supplier was for the bars, or can anyone recommend a possible vendor? Failing that, I'll probably be shopping for new bars.

I'd imagine that those aren't replaceable items these days.

Good news is you can find new steps on here for dirt cheap - very few people want them.

I just sanded mine down, prepped with rust inhibitor & shot em with truck bed coating.
Or look for new steps as james suggested.

 

I'm in the same boat. I had the same idea, and came to same conclusion.

They are made for Toyota by DeeZee.

The powdercoat on mine is flaking off bad, mostly on the driver's side. I think it would look cool if I could get them powdercoated the same color as my wheels, but can't find a re-build kit for the step pads.

I saw one guy on here a while ago that said he found replacement steps. I PM'd him, but never heard back.

Still trying to decide what to replace them with. Sliders look cool, but I have no real use for them, since my truck spends all it's time on the road. Plus living in the North East, I would probably have to re-paint them yearly. The tubes (for me) at least serve a purpose, and have also done a good job of keeping the paint on the lower half in good shape, especially since I don't run flaps.

 

It's a miracle! Went to the parts counter of the dealer (Legends Toyota in KC) where I got my 2012 and explained the situation. It took about 20 minutes of head-scratching (Toyota doesn't list dimensions or specifics) before we decided to order one step pad to see if it would match the ones I needed. Picked it up about two hours ago and it's the right part! Ordered the other three and will have them in 3-4 days. Did some research a short while ago and could have got them online for a little less, but I'm so happy I don't care.

For those interested, the Step Pad part number is PT767-35110-SP.

It looks like they just snap in. I'm bringing the bars to the powder coater on Tuesday....

 

Did these come with hardware? I broke the plastic clips that were holding these to the tube and I can't find the clips.

 

Same. I popped off my bull bar and nerf bars and sprayed em with truck bed coating. They look brand new; will hopefully get a few more years out of them before I full replace the sets.
