I came across this setup today, and I'm tempted because I already have a fiberglass topper, but it's not reinforced, so I'm looking for ways to mount an RTT without replacing my shell.

This setup seems cool for weight distribution, but I'd be worried about the bed flexing and having that coupled to the cab.

    Thumbs up or down?

I’m guessing it’s only attached to the cab rack but sitting on the shell, but who knows.

I don’t know about you, but my truck flexes way too much off road to have this work out. I have scratches against the cab where the bed has pushed up against it.

I guess it depends how hard you go off road. I don't rock crawl, but I push through some pretty rutted out trails that twist the truck up.

If tent isn't fixed to shell, then I guess worst case is the tent gets flexed a bit from the back?
