Not like what it is today. Back in the day, nobodies came into the sport and built the entire team themselves from the ground up. You don’t see that anymore. Chase Elliott, Blaney, the Dillon brothers. These guys just walk in and everything is already there. They instantly jump in the best equipment for the best teams.

Nascar started its demise in February 2001. After Sr's death they tried to pimp his son as the heir apparent. He never had the talent his dad did.

And yes... the glory days of TRUE race car drivers are long over. They ain't tough. Hell... my original driver... Ernie Irvan... damn neared himself and came back a year later... to claim victory at the track that almost claimed him. These drivers could never do that.

The only driver I've seen recently with true heart is my current driver... Matty D. For those who dont know... I became his fan when he almost won Bristol last year. His attitude gave me hope for the future of the sport. NASCRAP has all but drained that hope less than a year later.

Poorly handled from start to finsh. I am glad it ended up being a nonburger.

Nascar hasn't gone down hill because of diveresty driving out the nuts, it's gone down because the actual racing is pretty shitty

Stage yellows blow. Call your winner but keep the flag green. Let teams be a little more creative. If you are worrried about big money teams, put a modest cap on total team spending.

Earnhardt's death definitely played a part in it too. And yeah, the push of Earnhardt Jr wasn’t even remotely the same. That guy wasn’t near the driver his dad was. For anyone who is 30+ years old, they probably remember the 90s being awesome in NASCAR. It was so good back then. NASCAR suffered the same fate as wrestling. Wrestling peaked in the 90s too. Today? It’s a giant joke.

A better question to ask is what wasn’t good in the 90s? I’d go back in a heartbeat if it was possible and STAY there too.

Got to have somewhere to vent...

If they were providing a quality product we wouldn't have to even piss and moan.

Gibbs has won the past five races at Pocono. Hendrick dominated from '12-'14, sweeping six straight. I feel like this is Denny's year. Chase is having a similar season when he doesn't wreck.

One of our clients wants to sponsor a truck team. It's $12k+ for the hood for a one-race deal. I put in my 2 cents but it's not my account. It's a hard sell for a truck race on FS1, even though the trucks have some of the best racing right now*. We'd have to modify the logo because the NASCAR rule book doesn't allow guns on the cars.

*Xfinity has really stepped it up this year and I prefer that over Cup, given they actually drive faster than the Cup cars now.

Chase should have Target for his sponsorship the way his luck has been .20200626_100601.jpg

If he can stay away from the Penske drivers, he may be ok.
