Hi everyone - I am installing a couple of switches in my overhead console (where the sunglasses holder is) and am wanting to tap the ground and illumination wires off the traction control switch. Does anyone know off the top of their head which wires are which? Here’s a picture of the plug:

I’m going to go out on a limb and guess green is the illumination (+), but there’s two black wires — one with a white stripe and one pure black. I tried searching and couldn’t find anyone talking about tapping this particular switch.

I’m trying to light/dim these switches:

Use the R44 connector to the overhead console, leave switch alone.

Does anyone possibly have a source for a pair of these "R44" 24 pin connectors (male and female) which we could use to make an extension? Or an actual extension? So we could complete all wiring outside of the vehicle and return to stock later on?

I did some quick searching but didn't find anything which looked right. I did find this but can't tell if it fits any switch plug and it's a bit long and pricey.

Edit: just added link above, not that is a serious option, but wanted my post to be a bit more coherent. Thanks for the reply and link to Y harness, that should do nicely.

MESO & DSIM sell a Y harness for the pillar connector which has ALL the wires that go to the overhead console.

Maybe @DSIM or @MESO could add a 2 pin JST to the one they sell...:burp:

Anytime Back Up Camera has a harness that fits it perfectly. I believe they call it the ABC24 harness. The use it for the video feed tap, so there are 2 pins that do not connect. I am going to email them and see if they could sell one that doesn't have that, and is just the 24 wires. If that turns out to not be an option, plan B is to see if they sell it as is, and then I can pop the two tapped wires and replace them with two untapped wires. Not sure if that would work for OR models, but as the SR's only have 8 wires, there are plenty of extras.

I watched the dome rock install to get a feel for that. I can't say that I'll ever have the desire to light up the underside of my truck. However, that Y seems pretty close to ideal length for a quick tap of illumination pos/neg and to have access to 12v and ground. For any switches feeding a light, we'd need to get the switched output to a relay which means down the pillar anyway so this location seems like a solid choice. Also keeps some of the mess out of the overhead console which doesn't look overly spacious.
