My last 2 trucks, a 2016 and a 2020 I purchased a Toyota OEM Bedmat for each. My 2016 I had the bedmat in my truck for a month and next thing I know I look at it and half of it is faded or discolored. Low and behold, my 2020 Tacoma is less than 6 weeks old and the bed mat was in it for like a month. Same exact thing. They are heavy and seem to be high quality. Do I just have bad luck or has anyone else had this problem?

My bed mat was black but as a combination of being out in the sun and getting car wash soap on it, has turned slightly purple.

Mine was 4 years old and looked fine. Lightened maybe, but not drastically.

Much discoloration on mine after 4 years of abuse. Just discoloring though. Otherwise, it wears tough as nails.

You sure you aren't using something on it that is doing it? A cleaner? A wax? some drive through place you go?
Mine is 4 years old and still looks great and the truck stays outside

Nah, only have the truck for 6 weeks and the bed mat only installed like 5 weeks. Truck is garage kept and I never use anything to clean the bed. The last one the vendor replaced no questions asked. I was only curious if anyone else had bought one the appears defective after only a few weeks use.

    Not that we’ve heard.

.. although you’ve bought 2, which makes it much more likely something local causing your repeat issues.

Miy mat is scuffed, scratched and faded from 4 years of living outside and protecting the bed from hard, sharp, dirty gouging stuff.

Yup this. I regard the bed mat as a wear item. It's a sacrificial lamb to protect the more expensive part which is the bed.

My bed mats fine, even spilled some harsh chemicals on it.
Though, I do have a tonneau cover so UV never hits it. Tonneau cover super faded though....

Bought the bed mat for cheap too, off Amazon warehouse used.

Here's my '05 mat and my '20 mat. The 05 has had the shit beat out of it, the 20 is lightly used so far but sits under a soft top most of the time.IMG_2399.jpg IMG_2400.jpg

Try giving your bed mat a wipe down with some olive oil should restore the mat fast and make it not slippery.

Discoloration and defects are common in a short period.

It's just a bed mat. Not a crystal goblet. It's meant to protect the bed of your truck. It's exposed to sunlight and all manner of pollutants. It's gonna fade/discolor/wear. It's ok.
