I live in Lynchburg, but if I remember correctly it was 1500-2000 cheaper to have it done there than here. What was funny was that when I picked up the truck from them after they finished with it, the mechanic told me the person I got the quote from misquoted it way too low. I wasn't going to complain! I priced all the local dealerships, some never even got back to me.

stand up move they stuck to quote..first thing i did was amp and speakers at crutchfield.written quote.then after install tried to tack on hundred bucks.told them no way.he got sassy so i told him to take crap out of my truck.he said it was after closing time.told him i had all nite and would order a pizza.finally got my original quote price

Wheels and tires installed! It looks like a completely different truck to me now and I love it.

Two more pictures from today. I love the way it looks and drives now. I'm thinking rock sliders will be the next purchase I make, but I'm going to try and keep from thinking too seriously about it for now. My wallet needs some recovery time.

Just tripped across your build- looking good man! How on earth do you keep miles so low though?

Thanks buddy! Haha I promised myself when I bought the truck I wouldn't drive it much until I made the truck unique to me. So I would drive it once every week or two just to recharge the battery and circulate fluids. It helps having a Chevy Cruze that gets 42 mpg to take me to work everyday. The truck is just my fun vehicle, and on the rare occasion the house mule when I need to move heavy stuff around at my house.

Hello from a little further north! great looking truck love the SC. Just met @dewayne a little bit ago and figured out he's just over the mtn from me. If you think you want sliders SOS will be having a sale next month I believe like 15-20% off I believe if not and you want them later I know somebody can still get you 10% off. Eddy does good work and has quality products. You ever get up here around Culpeper or C'ville?

Man I couldn't imagine not driving my truck but that's some hard MPG's to argue with. I do easily 2.5x the number of miles you have each year alone, let alone over 3 or so haha.

Don't tempt me with spending more money! I'll have to check out that sale, I'm always able to justify a good deal. No I don't get out to that area much, although I probably should because I hear it's nice.

To me, having the truck stay young is worth it. That way I never get used to it and every time I drive it it still feels new.

As perspective, bought my Chevy Cruze new in 2012: now has 83000 miles on it and I don't care what happens to it.

Bought the tacoma in 2015: 7400 on it now and it's still my baby.

7400k good grief I drive that in 2 weeks with my rig.

    Props keep it young!

    Impressive and don’t stop

My 97 4runner just hit 360k I’m gonna hit half a million here very soon. Purchased mine stock from a one owner (wish was me) at 160k all factory records nothing ever touched. Thankfully it’s a 5spd 3.4 with rear Elocker. I plan to keep it till they bring back a manual 4runner... So I guess that’s for the rest of my life lol. I’m ok with that I know every single nut and bolt and it’s simple. Wife last year bought a brand new tacoma we plan to keep it clean time honored like yourself. Awesome build my friend!

Well after two years of no love the truck is about to go under the knife again. Waiting on headers and Y pipe and going to install it all at once. She now is 5 years old with 13,000 miles.

    Parts ordered or already here:
    Afe headers
    Afe Y pipe
    02 sim and spacers
    URD stage 2 clutch/pressure plate
    Clutchmasters internal slave cylinder
    ECGS bushing
    URD fuel pump upgrade kit

Update: Finally finished installing all these parts Sunday, and made it out to the dyno today. Unfortunately I've read that the clutchmasters throw out bearing and AFE high flow cats haven't been too reliable. Fingers crossed they'll be decent for me.

20210609_174939.jpg Numbers were 293.8 whp and 320.5 wtq. Was hoping for 300 whp but it was 92 degrees with 45 percent humidity. First post updated with current info.

ECU going out tomorrow for HPTuners tune. Will be putting it back on the dyno after, hopefully I'll be able to break the 300 whp barrier

Hptuners tune put me at 310.7whp and 324.8wtq. Gain of 16.9whp and 4.8wtq from the tune alone. Gained hp and tq throughout the entire rpm range, but had the biggest gains between 2.5-3.5k rpm and above 4250.

That’s gotta sound wicked with the TRD s/c, AFE header/exhaust combo. Any sound clips?
