    Hey guys,

Just a PSA here. Twice now I have triggered ABS and TSS codes after doing front suspension changes in the driveway and then driving to the alignment shop. This is because the steering wheel index is off which messes with the VSC cal and triggers this waterfall of trouble lights. This might be changing preload, adding UCAs, adding more lift, etc. I've done it twice- once when adding preload to springs and another when adding UCAs and subsequently driving to the alignment shop.

When driving even a short distance, The TSS and ABS lights will be on and flash, with alerts to take the vehicle to the dealer in the infoscreen. I have tried to do the manual clearing with the truck's diagnostic connector (shorting pins in a pattern) and I absolutely could not get it to work. I even built a little harness with a switch to short the pins correctly and still couldn't get it to work.

The dealer is going to charge a lot for a 10 minute job and I've found that most alignment shops cannot clear these codes because they don't have the right tool. In order to get them cleared outside of a dealer, you need to find a shop with the Snap On MODIS Diagnostic scan tool. I've found that Firestones seem to have them and I'm sure others do to. This tool can clear and reset the VSC computer. Firestone only charged me $25 and did it in 5 minutes.

    Hope this helps someone.
