Just got a frame replacement, with new shocks, and leaf packs. But my brake pedal went to the floor. I thought, well they haven't been used for a month, just need worked out. No way! They did get a little harder, but if I pump them 2-3 times fast, or if I am pushing on them really hard and they don't seem be working, and then push them down again they stiffen up and really grab. My front pads-a okay- inner and outer, left and right. My rear shoes, not sure. Any suggestions. Could it be the master cylinder, maybe rear shoes could be factory after 11 yrs. My front brakes really smell bad because I think they are doing all the work. I just got it back today....6/16/2020.
    Thanks....Pastor Brian

They most likely need to be bled.

Pastor, don't die. Take the truck back to the dealer and make them fix the brakes.

Take it back to the dealer carefully.
They worked when you brought it in.

I would have it towed back if you are not comfortable with bleeding your own brakes. What you described requires a very simple fix, but is very dangerous on the road.

What likely happened is that they removed the calipers to install the new frame. When you do this, air is introduced in to the hydraulic brake lines. When you press the pedal, the air compresses rather than the fluid pushing the brake shoes. As you drive, that air heats up, expands and you quickly go from having squishy brakes to having none.

Call the dealer and tell them your situation.
They may have it towed in for you.
If not, and you are not comfortable driving it, tow it yourself.
And accident will cost far more than a tow bill.

Too many trucks and mods to list.. check builds
Yea take it back to the dealer. They might of poorly bled it (or there’s a slim chance the master has failed from when they did bleed it and it’s now bypassing the seals)

Thanks immensely everyone, this means so much. TRULY, THANK YOU!
Even though I am a Pastor, I am mechanical....I have to be financially(the stealership robs and rips you off). When I pulled out they felt horrible from the dealership, but me being mechanical and not wanting to be an unappreciative customer I said, maybe they got some assembly grease on the rotors from putting the new frame on, I've done that, and any of us who have worked on brakes have done that and then the brakes are ghostly, scary, but the fade firm's up and you have brakes again. NOT THIS TIME. So I went back to the dealership just 10 minutes later and they were closed....CLOSED! They open @ 8 and it's now 7:45 am I'm praying they don't give me a rough time. If they do, I can to. They had to have driven it after they put the frame on, this doesn't make any sense. Thanks y'all! By God's grace go I back to the dealership.

This is off topic but did your springs and leaf packs get replaced with the frame due to the rust recall? And if so how rusty were your leaf springs? They changed them out for free?

I have an arrow as an antenna...
really curious about what they ended up doing. I have a pedal that is going to the floor to stop. I've bled the brakes multiple times with a friend's help. keeping a close eye on the master cylinder making sure we do not suck in air. No leaks anywhere, but the pedal has to travel way too much to stop. I am wanting to know if you had to replace the master or the booster?.... Also, they are still allowing for frame recalls? Is this something to take advantage of? Is there a way to see if it has already been done? My undercarriage looks like its been sprayed with black stuff.

You get 12 years from the date of “First Use”
Unless your truck sat at the dealer for a few years, you probably are out of date.
You can go to Toyota’s Website and type in your VIN # to get all the info.
Service records should indicate if the frame was replaced or treated.
You have to create and account to get all the info. It’s Free.

FWIW, My truck is out of date.
The frame had NOT been replaced or treated.
    It was inspected and passed.
I live in the South. We don’t tend to have the issues the Northern trucks do.
