Local place buys wrecked Tacomas and Tundras. Got the truck I’m looking for thats smooth other than the salvage title. Flood/rebuilt title. He wants $20.5k. What are y’all offering? Thanks

If it is a flood vehicle I would avoid it at just about any price.

Is it White's Auto in Vonore? For what it's worth he has been in business for 20+ years rebuilding strictly Toyotas - I doubt he would have such a large garage and facility if he did junk work for this long

It’s his place. I can see he does great work. Just not wanting to drop $20k on a salvage title. I don’t have enough experience with rebuilt titles to know what I’m getting into.

if you plan on keeping the truck forever i would say go for it im sure all the gremlins from flood have been looked at and worked out, However if you plan on selling or trading the truck in at some point down the road you can run into alot of issues just my 2 cents hope it works out either way!

    Same crap everyone else got
100% agree with this. Too many little things for someone to catch and fix them all. They become headaches down the road when your vehicle doesn't run right or can't pass emissions and you can't figure out what to fix.

A lot of Insurance Companies don’t want to insure “salvaged” titled vehicles.
So, it’s unlikely you’ll ever get that price if something happens.

I can’t see paying that for a salvaged title truck.

I’d be willing to go up to $15k, but I don’t foresee the owner of the shop going that low. He seems to have a great biz (as another member mentioned above) and doesn’t seem to have a hard time moving them.

What you're getting into is that your insurance will likely give you next to nothing if you're in an accident.
You won't be able to get a loan with a decent rate.
If you ever decide to sell, you'll get pennies back on the dollar you spent.

I still wouldn't consider it myself, but if it came with a warranty against electrical failures for >1 year that would make it slightly more appealing since it was flood damage.

Anything else you want to know?
