Just bought my son a '17 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4. He's been drivng a '07 Jeep Wrangler, but that will now go to the 3rd son -- each boy has driven it in high school.

I have been researching quite a bit on this forum, which is great resource, and i have a question for the group. Are there any shops here in the DFW/North Dallas area that are more focused on Tacomas -- we are looking at putting a lift kit on the truck, and from what I can tell on forums here, you want someone who knows a little more about Tacomas for this work.

Tandem Off road does great work.
Lifts are easy to install if ya got the tools.

    Agreed, Tandem is the go-to.
There is also Goode's Off-Road in Rowlett. I've never used him, but he's had favorable reviews from others.

As Maner said, installing a lift isn't too difficult if you're used to working on trucks.

Installing a lift with your son could be a good learning experience for the both of you. It's really not hard at all. I did mine by myself in just over two hours with air tools and hand tools, no lift. I too got recommendations for Tandem before attempting it myself. It was a breeze. I'd set aside 3-5 hours just to be safe. Check out a few YouTube videos ahead of time to build up your confidence.

Anyone in Plano/Frisco have recommendations for alignments? I don’t want to drive all the way to Tandem, but will if nothing is available. Truck is lifted, so will need a shop that can align a vehicle lifted. I reached out to Goodes but they sub out the alignment.

I got this guy's name from another Tacoma owner here on the forum who also lives in Plano.

I have yet to go to him, but they apparently have no issue with lifted trucks.

I am currently planning on going there once I install my lift to get my truck's alignment worked out.

Thanks! I am going to be swapping out the front suspension of my truck and was going to get it aligned afterwards. That's not too far from my home and will check it out as well. If I go before you, i will update you on it, but I am being told it should be about 4-6 weeks until i get the parts. Thanks!
