Here's a new product due to arrive July 2nd or 3rd (a week away), so I figured I'd better post it up to let everyone know they have another snorkel option in the market!!

Suits 2014 to 2020 Tundras with the 5.7L V8 engine and the stock air box. This wasn't intended to work with an aftermarket air box, as most of them have a different intake tube shape or size that isn't compatible without customization.

    Part number: SN59-3468
    Price: $300
    Website: https://exitoffroad.com/product/dobinsons-tundra-snorkel-kit

Taking orders now, good amount of stock arriving to be able to ship the first full week of July

Is it possible to get a round "pre-cleaner" head for the Dobinson's snorkel? Will the ones made for the Safari fit it?

I'd actually be looking at one for a 4th gen V8 4Runner, if there's any difference at the top end between models.

Yeah, you just have to find one the right size. The 4runner snorkel is a 3.5" inlet size.

Those precleaners do restrict airflow though, so keep that in mind.

I'm more concerned with getting the intake point up out of the wheel well since I'm cutting the liner back as part of the front bumper replacement. Is there something that uses a donut or cone filter around an intake horn (I could put a "sock" over it when I need extra protection from water/dust)? I could probably fabricate something like that in a pinch.

At the moment, I'm focused on just getting the lower portion of the build (front/rear bumpers, suspension, tires, and sliders) done far enough to take it to Tahoe in late June). Stuff like roof rack, snorkel and full skid plates are likely going to have to wait until after that trip either way.

Is the 3.5" the inner or outer diameter?

No idea. A snorkel is your best bet.

It's 3.5" OD, but the top of the snorkel intake is flexible a little bit

Thanks. It'll definitely be possible to find a cone or cylinder filter that'll fit that (and a water/dust cover to go with it); I kind of wonder if a velocity stack on the end would make any difference since it's still a pretty long and convoluted intake routing from there.

I know the snorkel is the way to go for relocating my intake with the V8. I've cot a relocation to the cowl at the base of the windshield on my Tacoma V6 and likely would have planned to do the same on a 4.0L T4R, but the side and position of the airbox on the V8 makes that option impractical on the 4.7L.
