FYI. The two circled holes are the same size as the side ones. It just looks bigger in the pic.

Why not remove this nut, place the bracket then put the nut back on?

What size is the hole you installed the well nut in on the 2nd gen?

    What's the hole spacing/hole size?

~0.375" A few 3rd gen guys have chose to use other methods than the well nut to attach, or to just drill a hole. If you've installed hood struts it's not any different than drilling for that.

@tamer wanted me to post some pictures after my install so here goes nothing.

I drilled two ⅜" holes (boxed in green) basically in line with the holes pre drilled in the hood (circled in red), then painted them with some spare touch up paint I had laying around.
    20200627_204204.jpg
I wired up the KC under hood lighting kit installing the switch on the bolt beside the battery/fender ground. 20200627_175847.jpg
I ran the wires along the fender and through the hole in the lower corner of the hood, then up through the supports to the lights. I zip-tied them to the supports just to keep the wiring from dangling. I did buy some ¼"x¾" bolts, washers, and lock nuts from Lowes to attach the cyclones to the brackets since KC only provides screws in their kit.
    20200627_175840.jpg
The output is substantial even during the daytime. I will get a night shot whenever the downpour ceases, but for now here is right after the install. 20200627_175854.jpg
:anonymous: I know its dirty under there, but the outside of the truck never gets washed either. The rain just doesn't do a good enough job under the hood :luvya:

Sweet! Glad it worked out man! You take the cake for first 3rd gen and first KC Cyclone install! Looks great at night, doesn't it?

They definitely brighten things up. For just over $100 this will pay for itself in no time.
