Ordering a lift in the near future and am looking to go with OME dakars. My issue is I haul a 7x14 snowmobile trailer that is quite tongue heavy in the winter. But besides some camping gear I dont haul much weight the rest of the year. Trying to decide between the medium and hd springs.

Does anybody haul a decent weight trailer with the medium's or have the hd's with no weight sometimes and could give me some input? I know neither are ideal, but which would be the least tradeoff?

Purchase the Heavy spring packs, remove the third leaf, and run them in Medium. If they don't hold up to your usage, reinstall the leaf.

I haven't measured the tongue weight of my boat trailer but its gotta be at least 200 lbs. I can't lift the trailers hitch to put it on the trucks 2'' receiver ball. When the trailer is hooked on, it barely caused any sag in the trucks rear. Trailer tows very nice.

I tow my 2300 lb boat just fine on the standard Dakar’s with king 2.5’s. It tows better than with the stock suspension.

All i do know according to the specs. on the boat its suppose to weigh a bit over 2000 lbs. It actually tows better than my 01 tundra...the receiver on the taco is 2'' lower than it was on the tundra. It seems better balanced being lower and now sitting level. Truck certainly rides a whole lot smoother to.
