Thanks destin.. I ordered a set.. along with 2 more boxes of sound deadening for the rear doors. I've got everything roughed in and I have to say its turning out pretty nice. Got the fronts all done and the tweets under the dash.. Still have the 5 channel amp running everything and the old sub in for now just so it sounds better. Still missing one seat but hell, at least I have sound its pretty nice so far. I've got my eye on the focal 165AC's and also ordered the metra brackets.. I did receive one of the rockford fosgate power series 10. Just waiting on the box so I can start to tidy everything up back there.. I'll post some pics when it's done. Gonna be a few more weeks but I'm not going anywhere too soon.

No problem with taking time and doing it right. I rushed my whole system at first (got it all done in a 4-hour break between clients at the shop) and then ended up ripping it all back out and putting it back in and doing deadening and all that

Ordered the last box of sound deadening. Also on the way are a pair of Focal 165AC's for the rear doors. Then I will have all the corners finished up.. Last piece is trying to pick which amp to buy for the subs.. I wound up getting 2 of the power T1s2 10 inch shallow mounts.. I have to admit, they look pretty impressive for being so thin, and have the same specs as the P3D4 I was running in the last truck. I was looking to score a Rockford P1000X1bd.. A few weeks ago they were everywhere for about 279.. Now everyone is out of stock and the price jumped to around 400 bucks.. what the hell ? I guess I should have ordered a few weeks ago. What are you opinions on an amp for the subs? The power subs are 500 RMS 1k peak.

Are your subs 2ohm or 4ohm, and are they DVC?

I might look at the Kicker CXA1200.1 if you’re trying to stay in a budget. Will run 1200w RMS at 1ohm so you have some headroom (which is never a bad thing)

Thanks Destin .. I'll check it out.. I'm just wondering if I can get smaller for the one sub and use the sub section of the existing amp.. Also mounting space is still to be determined .. until this sub box comes in.

    You “can”
Just stinks that your current amp is only 300w to the sub (if I remember correctly) so you’d want to send that same amount of power to the other sub. Then if you decide you want more bass (because the speakers can handle a lot more power) then you’ll be out the cost of the smaller amp

Supposedly .. But yeah.. For sure I get your point.. I suppose it will also come down to how much real estate I have on the board of the sub box / orientation as well. Or I can use that existing amp (provided its actually 500) and then look for a "smaller physical amp" for the other sub.

    Rockford Fosgate Punch P1000X5
    5-channel car amplifier — 75 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms + 500 watts RMS x 1 at 1 ohm

Well if it’s rated 500x1 at 1ohm, but you have 2ohm subs, you need to look at the 2ohm rating for the amp. Probably 250-300 range

So in this case with 2 subs of 1 ohm single voice coil.. would you go with presenting a 2 ohm load to the amp / 4 or 1?

So you have 2 subs that are each 2ohm
So if you run them both on the same amp, you can either wire them to a 1ohm load at the amp, or a 4ohm load at the amp.

You’re going to save a lot of money finding a 1ohm stable amp for the power you need.

Most amps are marketed for their 2ohm power, and their 4ohm power is usually half that. So if you need 1000w at 4ohm, you will be searching for a 2000w amp. That will probably be closing in on the $400 mark pretty easy, vs something like the kicker I mentioned that’s like $230

If I can get it to fit.. I'm still interested in the Rockford Fosgate P1000X1Bd.. Should be enough to drive them both I would think. It may come down to the mounting options.. I still have under the seat but I would like to avoid that if possible this go around.

    Rated Power
    (RMS Continuous Power)
    300 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohm
    500 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohm
    1000 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm
    Dynamic Power
    (PVC/PowerCube®)
    491 Watts x 1 @ 4-Ohms
    874 Watts x 1 @ 2-Ohms
    1,430 Watts x 1 @ 1-Ohm

This does not seem to want to go in all the way. I don’t want to force it. The connector is the right shape. Is something wrong? @GunJunkie @RubenZ @destin_meeks

    If
if none of the pins are bent and it goes it 90%, don’t be too scared to push it that last 10. As long as you can tell the pins are lining up, you should be good

@destin_meeks .. I had to relocate the one amp under the passenger seat.. Also going to have to look into seat jackers to get the clearance to avoid the bar.. Will post some pics later on. There was not enough space between the 2 sub enclosures to mount the 5 channel.
