The middle spark plug wire (I guess?) won’t go down any farther than that, I feel like that’s not supposed to be that way.

tighten the plug? Pull it out and good at it?

The trade I thought could happen fell through, so its back to work on the 4wd.

ordering hardware for the front bumper, anyone know what size those c clips with a nut through them are called / what size so I can order some? for the 01-04 bottom valence to bumper piece.

I used to be a parts guy for lawn and garden equipment. Regretfully the only way you'll find parts for that saw (other than aftermarket air filter fuel filter and spark plug) is from other enthusiasts online.

You can try stens.com they might still make aftermarket recoil springs and things but case pieces haven't been available since the 90s.

McCullough was bought by AYP who was bought by Husqvarna and when Husqvarna gets their hands on another line they 99% of the time discontinue everything

this is a pro series chainsaw that apparently holds up to modern ones. This suckers 82CC high compression. Used running ones are worth about 750-900 bucks apparently

For the love of all that is holy and runs on gasoline do NOT buy any of that new shit! The EPA has such a strangle hold on new power equipment the stuff barely lasts 2 seasons. Ports in carbs are smaller and get gummed up easier... I haven't seen it on 2 stroke stuff yet but Briggs and Stratton engines on new mowers have plastic carburetors now :(

And it'll be a torque monster! Older saws run at lower rpms compared to new ones ... but be careful, that vintage more than likely doesn't have a chain break for kickback and they can cause some serious personal injury
