What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

Softtopper looks great. I tried contacting you several times today but you were apparently busy I think I figured it out

 

I texted you back a couple hours ago. Glad you got it worked out though. I was busy with Brian all day. He drove down for some fab work.

Bought and installed a light bar today. 14 inches, cheapo.

Also, what is this plug. Its attached to the top of the fusebox

 

I cut his cab mount wayyyy back to this for his future 35s and also built him this crossbar for his bamf hanfers. We had other stuff on the itinerary but ran out of time. I don’t normally like doing the cab mount like this (angling the face back) because it doesn’t look as clean, but he wanted maximum clearance, so that’s what I gave him.

 

That bubble switch doesn't set well with me and I know you don't give a shoot!

 

Cut the whole end off the next time. I also remove the whole face back to the frame. It doesn't really need to be but makes a much smoother transition. When you cut the whole end off you can shape the end plate better. I weld on the face plates, tack the end cap on flat and hammer it around to shape it and taper it back. We all have our own way of doing these things but I found this easiest. So far

I hadn't finished cutting this one back to the frame yet but you can see what gets removed from the end.

Going to be doing this while I have my front end torn apart this coming week, looks good!

 

Looks great! It’s hard to tell from the angle but I did take the whole end off. I found a sawzal with quality blades makes short work of the end. Easier than getting in there with an angle grinder

 

For 34's or 35's you pretty much have to remove that much.

Oh, absolutely. Yeah the pick made it look like it was cut back at an angle. Either that or I just can't see that well LOL

Haha me either honestly. I'll be ordering an actual light bar switch soon. I just did it so the button wouldn't be dangling around under my dash

 

added an aluminum bash plate and lca plates (Ricochet Offroad)

Where you moving to? I've been tempted to move lately. My wife and I have been living in Michigan our whole lives and I would like a change. Was thinking Houston Texas. The fact I probably don't have a job anymore ndathe lack of jobs where I'm at might kick me in the butt.

Replaced the radiator support bushings. 66K miles and I can't believe how degraded they were. Glad I did it.

 

I was in GB for grad school. We will be in Milwaukee temporarily.

But my wife and I own a house just outside of Albuquerque and will be moving back to there in mid September. I grew up in New Mexico. Lived in Cali, Arizona, and Colorado. We both miss the west. The mountains. Big open skies. Mellow winters.
