I’ve thought about going that way. Think that’s the better option? I do have the meso fuse cover already.

Yes, you wouldn't mess with the OEM wire size for the taps in the pillar.

    Same for the ignition source.

The Lime green wire from the Cargo Lamp (which you are not using) has it's own 7.5 fuse

It will be sized at 1A. Just a protection of the factory wiring. I try to fuse anytime I tap, just in case. In all fairness though, that was the first to go in other drafts if I needed the room. And it could still go now if I had a better use for the space.

Change the 7.5A fuse to what you need...

Change the OEM fuse you mean?

Yes, since you are removing the cargo lamp.

And so you don't cut the Lime Green wire, crimp a non-insulated male spade terminal to the "LGR-Red" wire and wedge inside the relay terminal #5 And tape the wires.
Red arrow shows tab to depress for the relay block removal.

I like that idea, except if I ever take the topper off, then I would use the cargo lamp.

I like that idea much more than the Toyota vampire clips. Disappointing that is what Toyota’s solution was.

I got around to pulling the specs on the micro relays. They pull 80mA each. Not sure how much the Illumination of the LED pulls, but I doubt its too much. Plus the Illumination will be tapped off of the AUTO switch. So the Parking tap being the largest tap powering potentially 5 coils would only be drawing 400mA, the Ignition tap drawing 320mA at most. So do you still think it advisable to maybe run these triggers on there own relay? I can do that easy enough I think, just adds 2 more relays to the mix...

I also did a little more testing today on power draw. 5 switches in the on position (so both LEDs lit) drew 6mA. My meter at home only goes to 1mA, so assuming I play it safe and count each switch as 1.4mA each, 13 switches should be 18.2mA, once again rounding for safety, let’s call it 20. I think I’d be safe with that added load. Throw that on top of the potential 400 I might draw on the parking light circuit, and you’re at 420 mA. I think that is tolerable?
