I would like to drive to the top of the world in my truck, but I'll be solo and in a hurry, so I'd like to pick the easier side of the loop near the top. Most places on the internet agree that one side is easier, but beyond that, there's a ton of contradictory information. Left? Right? East? West? One guy's report literally claims that the north fork of the road is easier.

Right side when your going up is easier. We took a few stock trucks up that side with almost no issues. Left side a guy lost his driveshaft and gastank going up a ledge.

    Thank you!

I'll definitely need my drive shaft and gas tank to get back to work on time.

It was stupid trying to rush this trail without a spotter, but so far the truck is still doing okay. Wish me luck getting down!

I'm laughing at myself. I thought it was a troll post. Then there was backup in the second post. Then the picture made me realize that it was a trail. I'm an idiot

I heard about that story from Marcus if it was a few months ago. What an insane series of events that was.

Was that last year sep or nov timeframe? I saw a guy in longbed on TOW that was leaking fuel from puncture and shit a drive shaft. Stopped and asked if they needed help, he said bros were bringing parts from outta town.

Yeah, luckily a buddy was coming from Denver that day and was able to snag a fuel tank before he left. For a trail fix we used tire plugs, duct tape and ratchet straped a 2x4 to put pressure and got it sealed up. Didn't even leak the next morning when we put the new tank in. Getting off the trail in fwd wasn't fun though.

Is that coming down the left side? We must have missed a turn back in '16 and we're trying to go up that. Made it pretty far...but not all the way...with a 2wd.

In the picture we were coming down and going back to camp, it was right after the 2 roads came together. At first we missed the left road because its not as traveled and behind some trees.
