What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I was stationed in Little Creek and lived in Virginia Beach for many years...

You mind telling me what shop? Just curious.

 

How difficult was it and how long did it take you? I have mine and was planning to do them this weekend. Also did you do it by yourself or have an extra pair of hands?

 

This is one of the many reasons we need more than just a like button. damn that looks terrible

Funny thing was that when I first got them back they were filthy and I just thought the shop was sloppy. After I got home and cleaned them up I'm pretty sure the shop made them as dirty as possible to hide all the damage and I guess hope I wouldn't notice.

 

Did you speak with someone about it?

 

Lol of course. All of the service techs were at lunch when I picked them up though, and the front desk person sure as hell wasn't going to get her hands dirty, so I just took them home and hit them with some Tub O Towels wipes ... and then turned into the hulk when I saw all the damage.

 

Sorry if someone already asked, but is there a build page for this truck? And more specifically, that DIY bumper?

 

Re-geared to 4.88’s last weekend and mounted my shovel and hatchet to the side of the bed this weekend!

 

I mean after you saw said damage

ill never understand why people do silly shit to their vehicles, just like stick on vents you see people put on their front fenders. Your truck looks 100% better!

 

Got started on my front bumper build today. This winch is as high and tight as I can reasonably go. Now for the not fun part of bending and coping tubing, which I have very minimal experience in.

 

I changed my oil!




Also wired up my cap's third brake light.

 

Mine went out awhile ago. I need to figure out how to fix it

Happened a few months back.

 

I did it by myself and it took me about an hour and a half. It was pretty easy. Do yourself a favor and do the passenger side first. The driver side is kind of a pain in the ass. The bolt does not want to line up right so you are going to have to do a little work to get it to go through. I used a round pry bar to line it up and then used the bolt to push the pry bar back out. I got the bolt most of the way through by hand and then had to tap it the rest of the way with a hammer and the same pry bar coming from under the hood. You can get a good reach on it from under the hood. A second set of hands would certainly help but you can definitely do it alone.

 

Forgot to post a few weeks ago. I finally got side ride mounts from @Nimble9. Solid, sturdy, no movement. Damn satisfied with the mod. Thanks again!
