Was actually gonna post this same thing... was at SPI today then saw this after i got home... so is the meet still a go?

 

That is also exactly why I logged on this morning. I wasn't sure where I could look that up so thank you @StaticOnTheRadio !

I for one would hate to contribute to anyone here catching or spreading something that can be prevented from spreading to begin with.
We can already tell from our current lists that attendance will be significantly lower this year compared to the past couple of years.

For the sake of our community and the well being of all on here I think the best bet would be to cancel this year's meet.

My hope is that by this time next year we will have a much better stronghold on this entire situation as a nation so we can go back to having local gatherings such as this one.

So yes, as much as I hate to even type these words our 11th annual South Padre Island Meet will be cancelled for this year.

I know all of you were looking forward to attending this meet. Me more than anyone. I've driven from as far as California in the past years to keep attending what I started 11 years ago so I hate to see this year go by without a meet. I'm not one to quit on anything I've started but for now we'll just have to put this whole show off for one year.

Let's plan on making next year's meet the biggest one yet.

That being said, if anyone does end up getting together on our scheduled date, please be safe and do what you have to!

Hopefully next year would be better. As for the lost of ppl, ehhhh more ppl always show up then expected I’ve noticed. Either way sucks we all can’t hang out for the taco run. Back to work it is.

SPI....Access are closed to all motar vehicles, however, they are open to walking traffic. It's a hell of a walk from the street to the water, I must say! But once you reach the water it's all worth it!! Here's a pix from today!!
