Yeah leaf liners for noise. I wasnt going to chance it when the leafs were off the truck waiting to be installed.

As far as measurements, you gotta remember, the dakar pack is much thicker than the OEM pack which will reduce uptravel. I have considered the GM bumpstops as well.

With my calculations on my EL095R pack using the stock bumpstop, utilizing the 5125 shock (pn = 33-230337), I have right around 3/4 of an inch of shock left once the bumptop touches the frame which is about the minimum id want . With the B110 being 1.33in longer compressed, id need to loose 1.33 in of uptravel to make it proper.

Softer? I'm about to replace my aging Toytec Boss kit with low mileage 3rd gen TRD OR shocks and I'm real excited...

What size tires are you running? Right now I'm on 285x75's and am wondering how much they'll rub on just the 3rd gen 1" lift. I've done the CMC and cut all the fenders...
I'll be going back to 265x75's soon

I haven't gotten around to putting my 3rd Gen Front coilovers and rear springs/shocks on yet, but planning on doing it shortly. Thinking about doing the rear first. Two questions slowing me down:

    1. Do I need a rear alignment after doing rear shocks/leafs?

    2. Alignment shop here in Northeast said that the cam bolts on the LCA's seize up. I have new ball joints on lCA's, is it likely that if that is the case, just the cam bolts can be replaced or do people have to replace the LCA's usually?

    Thanks!

About to install my 3rd gen suspension. I looked up the parts # on the leafs and they are either "rear Left hand" position or "rear right hand" position. I just want to make sure that "rear left hand" = drivers side. Is that a correct interpretation? thanks

    1. Do you leafs and shocks one side at time leaving the other side tight and the axle shouldn't move, I've never had alignment issues doing this with solid axle.
    2. You'll need new cam bolts and bushings but control arms with your new ball joints can be salvaged.

I believe your interpretation is correct, Rl=driver Rr=pass

This is a super helpful thread! I picked up a set of 2020 take-offs and can't wait to install them. My '09 Sport only has 65k on it, but at least it'll hopefully soften the ride up and add a bit of lift.

Finally got 2019 OR takeoffs on my 2006 dcsb prerunner with 160k miles. Got about 1.5" in the front and 1" in the back. We'll see where they are at after a few weeks.

The ride is so much better. More firm but handles like a champ. No more bouncing around. Might add a 1/2" shim or 1" block to back to get a little more rake.

Did you change the rear leaf as well? Interesting you got a 1.5in lift in the front and 1in in the back. The front should settle at 1in and the rear should have no lift unless you swapped out your leaf like I did. I went from a 2+1 leaf to a 3+1 leaf off a 3rd gen and it only gave me 0.5in lift.

I eventually added a 1/4 headstrong spacer lift in the front and a 1/2 toytec flat shim in the back. Overall 1.5in in the front and 1in the back. Don't forget to do an alignment even with a very small lift. Looks good btw

Yup changed out the leafs too. The original leafs were 3+1 but I think they were super worn out and flattened. I wonder if I got a little more lift because of 2wd.

Did the 1/4" spacer on the drivers side to correct taco lean and will prob do the same as you with the 1/2" shims in the back. Going to get aligned tomorrow.

I just swapped my 2011 suspension with the 2019 trd off road set. Drives better. Raised around 1”.

Looks good! How does the ride quality compare to the old suspension?

I didn’t try freeway yet. But on the streets feels good. Cornering better. Not too stiff. I like it. And looks better too. ( before picture attached)

You can definitely see the difference in height. Still looking for time to install the 3rd gen suspension in mine I picked up a couple months ago.

Go for it. It’s easy and takes like 1.5 hr front and 2 hr rear. ( with brakes for beer )

Add another hour for each of those if you live in a rust state and have to cut off every bolt to get the old stuff out. Went through a half dozen Diablo sawzall blades when I did mine. :sawzall:

Luckily (or unluckily, depends on how you look at it) I'm in Southern California, so no rust whatsoever.
