Is it just angle iron and bar stock? Clever.

It is super handy though. My beer wagon is actually square...

that’s going to look good. I followed the rear bumper build, guess i will have to do a front soon now. Don’t think I will be as successful with the bending

 

Psh, see that shiny spot? That’s where my measurements were off somehow and that portion was 1” longer than the other side. My solution was to cut out 1” and weld it back together because I didn’t want to scrap the whole thing. Each bend I had to put back in the bender and bend it a few degrees tighter. Trust me, she ain’t perfect but I’m ok with that. At least now the bend angles are identical on each side. You’re going to do great if you do try something like this.

 

Cut a short piece of tube down the middle that is the next diameter up from what you’re working with. Lay that over the tube you’re working with and trace the side of the short piece of tube with a scribe.

That way you can line the scribe back up in the bender and re bend in the exact same place. Sharpies are junk... throw them away and get a good scribe.

And yes multiple bends are tricky... just imagine doing the main tubes for a roll cage with multiple bends in different planes and making it all tuck up inside the truck

 

Well if my track record with leaving sharpies uncapped tells us anything, I’ll run out of them soon enough. I have a sharpened welding pencil for most stuff but I have a hard time seeing that then lining up in the bender

 

Get a good scribe and don’t be scared to dig into the metal with it

Love the use of the torque wrench as a shim to support the long iron. I use one of my squares attached to my hand cart. I can adjust it super quick to any height.
