I just reused a chunk of URD cat back. I removed the Black Widow without delay after returning from initial test drive. I would need much more than a vibrant resonator ahead of it to silence all the noise.
I really want to experiment with some helmhotz resonator chambers at this point.

Ark Helmhotz exhaust on Stinger. Ark spent a lot of time fussing with the exhaust note for this car.

With what your boost setup is intended to be, it will sound quite pleasurable with your exhaust configuration.

The intent is good. The application is missing in the design. Each crossover creates an eddy current and pushes against itself. Were it to actually be a smoother transition from one volute to the other, then it would sound much better.

Having the muffler down turn at a say 45°,if staying under the cab, will also help some. Instead of the 90° down.

I had that initially and it propagates the sound funny because the bend was 45, but the cut was parallel to the ground (so I wasn’t spitting exhaust directly on the axle, brake line, and sensor wire). It still killed one wire without shielding.

I need at least two feet of tail pipe, just have to do the work; that will give me a little space to put a second silencer and possibly a tip too. Just have to tuck it up super high since I bump up level with the frame.

The important thing isn’t just in-cabin noise, if I sounds terrible like these kids that run up and down my road I’d rather just find one of these kegs you guys are all endorsing and hear nothing. Butttt, if I can come up with a helmhotz that works, that would be the best.

You really won't need a helmholtz for the Black Widow. I promise you.

Also, how about some pictures heading towards the Y pipe? That bending that's going on there sort of reminds me of mine looking at it further from the rear.

A photo looking back towards the engine? I don’t have one offhand, I’ll take a shot later.

With long tube headers and custom y pipe, that muffler will do little, to nothing to mitigate the noise.
The keg muffler isn't silent with the headers and y pipe. It sounds good and deep under acceleration, but it is very quiet during cruising. I've played with a lot of mufflers on this setup and It's definitely one of the better all around performers. And because it's made for a 400hp V-8 it has the efficiency to work very well with our tuned S/C'd engines. I have a full cab vehicle, so tone is very important or it can get very annoying.

--> if you want to try one on the cheap: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3-magnaflow-mufflers-for-sale-central-california.664459/

Its a long three chamber design. When you look through it, it's straight through, but the tube is not continuous. The first and third chambers are perf core and there's a 3" gap between the tubing into an open chamber. It's not finished as nice as the oval shaped mufflers, but the sound was very good. Just a little too loud for my current tastes.

Took a look at the construction. I was hoping there was packing around the perf.
I wish car mufflers were riveted or screwed together like motorcycle canisters. I could do lots of modification and experimenting like that.

Haha, ask @Roostfactor he hasn't met a muffler he hasn't cut open. We talked a lot about muffler design, he's opened up every muffler he's ever had. I've sketched out a design I want to follow up on after installing the front and rear long travel. I'm going to have to make changes to my system as the upper link for my rear is going to make me remove my keg muffler. I'm thinking about a combination of of Corsa, Magnaflow, and Flowmaster mechanisms. We'll see, not sure if I'll ever get to it.

I was entertaining the idea of having the exhaust exit though the bed. Not Mack truck style, but more of an off center stinger or HMMWV fording style.

Can’t really see a great way that avoids my bed cage and suspension yet. Might be more trouble than it’s worth, but I’ve seen some interesting back halved setups that looked good.
