Looking into a Soft Topper. Any concerns about it getting stolen?

I'm looking into getting a Soft Topper, mainly because I can remove it easily if I need to.

Any concerns about it getting stolen off the street? Or has anyone ever had one stolen off their truck?

 

I personally have not heard of the softopper getting stolen. Ive here of things in the truck bed getting stolen, since the topper can easily be opened.

 

They would probably steal the truck first.

 

Well it happened to me.....
Guy wanted tonneau so bad he stole the whole truck smack out of the driveway . When cops recovered truck 2 weeks later the tonneau was gone. And there was 5 gal can full of petrol in bed. Cops said it was going to be torched soon. So thief really did only want tonneau. Ha Ha!

 

On another note, I have never seen a tonneau that couldn’t be forced open fairly easily. I have never had it happen in 12 years, but there is always a first.
My rule is avoid putting valuables in the bed in highly public places and parking, just as if it was car trunk. Misfits are watching those places!
