I just drained the tranny fluid form the pan and I got about 1.5 quarts. Approximately how many quarts should be in the pan? I'm about to put new fluid in and would need a guesstimate of how much so I don't over fill too much. Then I'll use the check/drain to set the correct amount. At 65 km the old fluid was still red and translucent.
A quick response would be much appreciated..

Well I filled the tranny pan with 3 quarts and determined that the tranny has been running about 1/2 quart low. The fluid had 65 K mi on it but was still a translucent red when I drained it. Not as bright red as the new stuff but definitely not black. I'll probably do it again when I change the engine oil in the fall.
