After having my windshield replaced I found out it wasn’t sealed all the way.
It sounded like a window was opened a crack. I just thought it was the trim that was used made it sound louder.
but while driving my friend pressed on the glass and it changed the sound.

What is acceptable repair when I go back?
To me it has to be removed and reinstalled to be done correctly.
Just looking for advice on how to handle it.
    Thanks

i would expect that it be removed and installed correctly. Otherwise, they are just putting band-aid on it.

Doesn’t the glass have to be embedded into the urethane? Not just caulked around the glass.

Go back and tell them what you just told us. They were paid to replace it, and it is unacceptable to have wind noise coming through the gaps. You'll have water seeping in as well. Which will cause you many other issues.

I had this happen many years ago on another car. They had to replace the entire windshield 3 times before they finally got it right. It also wasn't as simple as just removing it and reinstalling, as they broke the windshield each time when removing it, so it required new glass every time.

They eventually got it right, but if it is making noise, it will never go away unless you start from scratch. Chances are there's a hole in the urethane adhesive that was either from incorrect application, or moving the glass around too much to get it centered.

Have them replace it. The windshield is installed with a urethane sealant that also has some structural properties to it because it is usually part of the airbag restraint system. It helps keep the airbags in place when you pile into them at highway speeds.
If they balk at your request, tell them this is a serious safety concern and will be noted as such with a formal email to the company. When you start using the 'safety' word, you usually get better results.
