I did a search and couldn’t find anything on this head unit, so here it is! Love the flush-mount setup with the smaller 9”, but I guess bigger is better?! Plus, the “floating” units kind of grew on me (came from a Halo9) so I wanted to try out Pioneer’s flagship.

Loving it so far! (Apologies in advance for the track selection in the photo – damn Spotify radio)

Anyone else with this head unit, or the smaller version? Thoughts?

7600 9.1" here, so far no real complaints. Other than the audible fan noise. When it's on there's a clearly visible reflection inside the air gap between the display and the glass, which creates this multiple reflection thing behind high contrast elements on the screen. Still love it tho.

I have the 8600. I like it so far. I do wish it had more than 1 usb connection like my 4200nex had. I've been playing with the height and I think I like it where its at now. I can use the storage under the radio.

Nice! Yeah, the one USB port is kind of a bummer, but you can easily wire up a USB hub/switcher and put it in your glove box or center console?

Is anyone running HDMI input? I wired an Amazon FireTV stick into my glovebox to the micro-HDMI to the back of the head unit. I also have the e-brake bypass. I'm still getting the error message when the truck is in motion, and can't for the life of me figure out what needs to be bypassed. My speed sensor wire is disconnected, and I also tried it with the GPS disconnected. No dice.

I just installed the 8600 in my FJ... having a couple of issues with the Alexa portion, and can't get the CARAVAssist to connect so I can customize the home screen and sports teams etc.... believe it has something to do with the Parking Brake bypass kit my installer used. I ordered a different one made specifically for the PIONEER DVH-WT8600NEX. Other than that I love it, just need to figure out how to play videos on this, that's about the only thing I haven't done yet. One surprise ALEXA will only play from Amazon Prime Music,,,, I prefer Spotify as I have the premium ad free account with 320kbps streaming, trying to figure out a workaround.

Hey guys, I’m no longer a Toyota owner but I was searching the web on how to bypass the video error and came across this post and thought I’d help out. BTW my tundra was the best truck I’ve ever owned. Anyways, I found that on the Pioneer DMH-WT8600nex it has a built in bypass but the procedure is a little different than the older avic models. first, get the unit into “standby” mode or “source off” do not power off the unit. For this next step you’ll need to time it, I used the stop watch on my iPhone. Put your finger on the lower left corner of the screen (quarter inch to the right and a quarter inch up) for 10 seconds. Then within 1 second switch to the lower right portion of the screen (quarter inch to the left and quarter inch up) for 10 to 12 seconds. If done correctly a message will appear on the bottom middle screen saying “set on”. Process will be complete and you won’t need to do anything again unless your battery dies. Hope this helps, I know it drove me crazy. Also you can connect the vss wire and gps antenna and this will still work.

Thanks for the replies! Finally figured out the bypass last week, and all is well in the world!

This should work for all the latest Pioneer DMH models, no longer requiring the hardwired relay/pulse e-brake or GPS bypass.

These units are so hard to find right now! Thinking about grabbing the 8600 when I find it. Anyone had any issues with it shaking/bouncing around?

Mine has been solid, doesn't move at all. I do have a screen flickering issue. Flashes about 8 times a minute. Doesn't matter if I'm stopped or moving, does it on every source I use. I have a replacement on its way. ABT.COM has them in stock. That's who I bought mine from

Did your truck have the JBL suite? If so did you notice a sound quality difference?

I'm non JBL but I have upgraded everything to Kicker and also have two 12"Shallow Pioneer subs. I came
from the T9 radio and the audio improvement is ridiculous. So much louder and clearer

The way to bypass the new pioneers i figured out into ground the brake, disconnect the speed sensor wire and the gps antennae and then in the settings you can go to calibration and clear all the calibrations which resets the GPS in motion info...since the antennae is disconnected now it can't relearn your GPS position for speed sense and then everything works

bought mine from Crutchfield. Sitting in the box right now in the garage waiting for me to get time to put it in. I also got all the stuff Crutchfield recommended for the install.

I also watched Five Star Car Stereo when they put in a Halo 9 unit into a Tacoma. Pretty straight forward.

I just installed the 7600 in my ‘14 double cab. Looks and works great! I’ll upload some pictures after work.

The wiring harness was a pain with the Maestro but I was able to jam it all in there and the Scosche dash kit helped a lot. I need to raise the screen one more slot so I have access to the cubby.

Eventually I’m going to splice extensions into the harness and completely tuck it under the center console behind the switch blanks under the AC controls.

the Bluetooth upgrade for the Maestro RR2 will a nice upgrade so I don’t have to rip apart my dash every time I need to flash an update.

does anyone have any recommendations on parking sensors that will work with this headunit/iDatalink?

Got mine installed and love it. I tried to get the built-in bypass to work, but could never get it to pop up on the screen. I ended up grounding the green brake wire to the ground on the radio and everything worked for me.

Does a USB hub work with these units? Pioneer's site says it isn't compatible.

I want to run usb music drive in the glove and still use factory usb location on the dash if I ever want to direct connect my phone or add additional usb music drive.

And what are you guys doing with the HDMI? Routing it?

It has a USB-C connection on the back. I don't use a hub on mine.

I don't use the HDMI either, but see where guys are running a mini hdmi to regular hdmi adapter then plugging in a fire stick or something.
