So yesterday the kids rolled down the rear windows and they stopped. Driver side only works on driver switch (door closed but not open:notsure:) fr/passenger only works off that switch. No windows work in the back from master or door switch not even a sound like it’s trying just dead. All fuses are good.

Currently in an Uber from the dealer headed home. They are scratching their heads and already tried to pawn it off on something plugged into a factory usb power port...and the tailgate actuator I installed to lock/unlock... really o_O this should be fun...

If you had the battery disconnected when you installed the tailgate lock you may have to follow the reset procedure, it's also in the Owners Manual.

They only thing that has been done over the last two weeks is I had the tail gate replace under insurance because some ass used it for kicking practice.

Is this button down or up? Should see orange/red in the six o’clock position if the button is off.

Soooo Toyota put direct power on the windows and they all work. Since they put four hours of work they wanted to start charging diagnostic fees unless they find it’s not something I did.

They want to start shooting the harness which I can do.

Admittedly I’ve replaced speakers installed a Kicker Key amp under the seat, Meso puddle lights etc. So I would rather take it back to Ohio after this Florida vacation and troubleshoot it myself. Could of been an existing problem as I never roll down any window but the drivers.

Yeah just say’n spent the first 10 years of my military career fixing 33 million dollar fighters built by the lowest bidder dropping bombs from 33 thousand feet. Now did I pop a screw in the wrong place :spy: gonna back track first and investigate. Pretty sure all my shits legit. But mote to follow.

Told them to just roll up the windows and button it up ... more to follow in this saga but I’m sure we TW geniuses can figure out this one.

My bet is if you short the switch on the drivers door that turns the rear on/off, they’ll work. That switch is either disconnect or knackered. That should have been the first thing the Toyota techs checked.

I got a bad vibe from this guy. Guy said his tech troubleshot does four hours and validated all my stuff (“LED lights” tailgate lock) wasn’t the issue. Duh, I did that. He disassembled the truck... granted I can pull all the doors in 35 minutes. Wanted me to comp $235 at least for diagnostics as he had kids to feed. Not making this shit up. Like I said just put power to the windows and button that shit up. I’ll take it home and figure it out or take it to my dealer.
