I am thinking of getting an ARE truck cap for a 2nd gen Tacoma.

Has anyone purchased an ARE cap and if so were they happy after using it for a while. Also would you add the tracks for the roof rack system?

Had a MX on my 2007 and xfer'd to my 2010 but let it go with it when I got my 2015.
Switched to Snug-top Hi-liner. Much better product in my experience.
    Local to me also.

Thanks, I have never owned a cap and the ARE dealer is near me. I was watching a guy on YouTube and he was showing how bad the hatch window over the tailgate fit. Other than Leer I really didn't know what had a good fit for the Tacoma.

I currently have a Snugtop Rebel, but ARE was also on my list. It was between ARE and Snugtop, being on the west coast I went with Snugtop. Seems that ARE is more East coast. I would definitely recommend getting the tracks. Used to work at Yakima and handled all of the orders for the cap manufactures. Its a very popular add on. Much easier to order from the factory, you can do it by yourself, just takes time and patience.

Thanks naptime810 I have an ARE dealer about 30 minutes north of me. I checked on the Snug-top that you and others have talked about but the closest dealer to me is in Oklahoma which is a very long drive so it looks like ARE is going to be what I get. After I gave it some thought I am going to get the tracks so I can use the Yakima accessories.

I don't think you can really go wrong with it. Be sure to post up some photos! Good call on the tracks. It just makes it a lot more versatile.
