Firearm BS thread

Hey, anyone have bright ideas on a target setup for shooting on public land?
I dont want to leave a mess behind so I want to shoot a steel disk hanging on a chain but theyre all so expensive. The disks are cheap (like 30 bucks) but the stands are like $150-200.

That's an awesome idea, just searched and those types of Y brackets are for available online. 5 conduits, brackets, a hook, steel plate, good to go

I initially had the conduit cut to 5', but later cut it down to 4' to drop targets some. The 2x4's were 42" (no idea why I picked that length)....but any length will work.

Make one out of pvc pipe but don't glue it. That way you can take it apart in a minute or two same with putting it together.

I usually just make a target on the side of a cardboard box anymore.
Drop a rock in it to keep the wind at bay.
Pick up when done.

Probably a fire hazard because there are rocks...

Guess i need to join some gun klub, pay dues, clean up, restrict... yada yada yada...never mind...

 

That is usually what I do as well. It does make clean up super fast when its just a box. I do enjoy the sound of smacking steel though. I made a target stand for my steel plate, and one shot of 8mm Mauser to the plate caused the whole stand to fly to pieces. I guess I need to build it better.

 

My first thought was that it is an Ice Axe.

 

Found some 30-30 today at Academy. Got 2 boxes of Winchester power point 170 gr. Looking to site in the Winchester 94 my grandfather passed down to me earlier this year.

After some re-arranging of a few things in my basement, found a good spot for my new gun cleaning/work stand. Found a nice tall shop stool that's the perfect height. I have another LED Shop Light on order (same as above the other work bench), which I'll hang above.

 

Does the other work bench have a stainless top?

 

No, just painted a darker gray.
