Tacoma’s made in Mexico — When?

When will the Tacoma’s transition to being made in Mexico 100%?

I thought I heard some are already made there, not sure please clarify.

and who else has had a failed fan blower? Original was made in
Mexico and just got a replacement for one and it’s still says made in Mexico with the motor being made in China.

There has literally been no evidence of Mexico made trucks being lower quality than Texas.

My south of the border Offroad has been great. If I recall correctly, all Tacoma's will be made in Mexico from now on.

My 2016 was made in Mexico and has been fine.

 

The texas plant will stop making the Tacoma after this year, the 2nd plant in Mexico has already begun production

 

Okay, so just out of curiosity how can you tell where your truck was made?

 

VIN# begins with 3 or 5

 

If your vin# begins with the number 3, it was made in Mexico. If it begins with 5 it was built in Texas

 

The first number of your vin will tell you. If I remember correctly 5 is Texas 3 is mexico

 

The driver's side door jam.

 

There is a white sticker on the driver side door frame, just above the tire pressure sticker. It shows the manufacturing location and manufacturing date. My understanding is that only Tacomas made in Texas in 2020 were TRD Pros and some manual transmission trucks and that they are moving all Tacoma manufacturing to Mexico for 2021 and beyond.

 

The blower in my 17 went out twice before the recall blower was put in. They fixed the first time with the same part.
