Ive never been able discuss my education on TW without the fear of coming off like a pompous asshole. So here goes:

    BA in Criminology and Philosophy
    MA in Philosophy
    JD.

But I’m just a lowly trial lawyer. I don’t get to do cool stuff like you all.

Running sucks. Lol...after years of rugby and endless running, I have determined to never do it again. I am buying an assault bike though as the diesire to suffer remains.

I am training to stand my ground instead of run away.
Jacked dudes can be smrt too.

You get to scream at witnesses "I WANT THE TRUTH!" unless you're more of a Matlock, in which case do you use your old timey country charms to beguile witnesses?

What position did you play? I am usually front row, sometimes 8. So naturally, as a forward, I hate cardio. Still playing but obviously the spring season got canceled.

Im more Matlock than I am Colonel Jessup. I always joke I’m
just a small town pizza lawyer like that one dominos commercial.

LoL...I was a back rower (flanker mostly) and occasionally an inside centre. Now that I'm over 40 my buddies keep trying to get me back to play old boys but my wife has said no mas...lol.

Im still a couple of years away from qualifying for old boys. But I can’t wait. Rolling subs…yes!

The fly half on my team is 63. And one of the fastest and fittest players on the field. Fall season I propped against a 72 year old in a friendly.

    Get back out there!

I had my nose broken in a ruck years ago as a reward for fucking murdering a 60 something flyhalf. It's funny, rugby is one of those games where it is really attrition...guys who just never seem to get injured and then guys who are all messed up by 35. Now I am looking at cleats and gold shorts online lol....damn you!

I feel the same. Being treated as pompus for all the letters. I just love spending money on school... which is not always a great thing.
My husband has an associates and makes nearly double me. I make a teachers salary for all my education. I do it purely for enjoyment.

I want to go to law school but I don’t think I’ll ever want to practice. I’ll pass the bar and maintain a license but not sure I’ll ever practice. I just love law and the way you guys are taught problemsolving. Its very useful for the diplomacy and tact of policy.

If I practiced it would be in a state government capacity.

If I can get a scholarship to cover a large chunk of the $80k my state school will cost I want to go to law school.

My attorney friends tell me not to do it. What say you?

That's a lot of money, time, and effort for problem solving skills. I have had a lot of non-practicing lawyers work for me on various policy teams. Formal training helps their analytical skills but obliterates their ability to write cogently and clearly. ;)

When it comes to stuff like this, you should have a purpose that animates you, as it will also be a bit of a slog at times. Of course that could be the achievement itself...

I work with JDs that don’t practice so they say the same thing. They tell me law school steals too much of your soul if its not your true passion.

I hope everyone gets drunk and enjoys their Independence Day :oldglory:

I'm paying like $28/month but my moto is a lil 250cc and not classified as a sport bike so its cheap to insure.

As other state UA. They're comfortable, they fit right, and they are lasting pretty well for me. And see below.

I'm a bad lesbian. I prefer Teva or now huarache-esque sandals for my adventures.

Road trip fitness is hard. Tomorrow I go to a lil park near Richmond, VA and do the "health trail" with those little exercise implements along a running path. Pull ups, step ups, abs, frog jumps. Let's go.

    Happy 4th y'all! 'Merica!!!
