Manual Transmission Clutch Squeak?

My 2019 TRD Off Road just passed 1 year old, and its developed a squeak in the clutch pedal inside the cab. I know it's a pneumatic clutch connection so I'm not worried about the transmission itself, but it gets progressively louder every time I press the pedal in normal driving conditions. Has anyone else noticed this? And is it just the spring on the pedal itself that can be fixed by some WD-40?

Any suggestions? Thanks!

 

Disc Brake Grease on all the pivot points will take care of the old barn door creak sound.

 

There is a TSB on this. I took to my dealership last year and they replaced the entire assembly - fixed the problem https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2019/MC-10164907-9999.pdf

 

yeah. itll happen eventually. happen in my 08 xrunner, and my 13 trd or. now my 19 trd sport has it very slightly. all was purchased brand new off the lot, so i was there when it developed. i pretty much babied all of them, so to me its only a matter of time. like mentioned earlier, small dab of grease should alleviate. i never knew about the tsb so maybe that too.

 

Yeah - it's only been a known issue for Toyotas for the last 15 years or so - not holding my breath that they're going to fix this anytime soon... They tried to grease the original assembly, but it started squeaking again before I even left the dealership. I took it straight back and showed them the TSB, and they replaced everything; no questions asked.

 

I don't understand why someone would spend a day (or more) dealing with a dealership and having a major component replaced when the fix is so easily done in less time than it takes to drink a beer. Seriously, 5 minutes to apply some thick grease to a couple moving parts that you can reach from inside the cab and you won't have to hear the sound again. I haven't had to reapply the grease once and haven't heard a squeak in the 4 years since I did this on my truck.

 

To each their own, I guess. FWIW - once the parts were in, it only took a couple hours for them to replace the assembly. My thought is I spent a lot of money on my truck and didn't feel that slathering a part with grease was the right answer for me. Again - for me - the dealership tried to lube up the assembly, but it didn't fix the issue.

 

... also - if you look at the TSB, the replacement parts are different part #s than the factory original assembly. Why Toyota couldn't just put the replacement parts in our trucks from the get-go is beyond me.

 

Yep, my manual FJ Cruiser had it. Sprayed the areas above the clutch pedal with grease and it's gone.

 

Usually roll with the windows down so I rarely notice the squeak

 

They replaced mine but it came back after few months. I will just use some grease when it gets annoying. It comes and goes, so it doesnt really bother me.

 

Toyota replaced my entire assembly 2 years ago and the squeak came back last year. I've since just been applying grease every 6 months or so and it's been fine since.

 

I got the creaking sound... dealership replaced the assembly and all
Is good..... for now but I feel it coming back ...
