Well written post and thank you for your service! I'm 77 and on my second 3 gen Tacoma. I have not done as many mods as you (mostly bolt-on stuff like TRD skid plate, rails, new speakers, Meso start button and others). But, as a semi-retired college professor (business) I can say (write) the thinking of the kids today as to what is owed them by society would shock you. I will be gone by the time this nation collapses and I hate it for anyone under 40 as the America they know today will be a footnote in history by the time they reach retirement age (which most likely won't be available anyway). Sorry, TW members, this is not the forum to rant about subjects other than our Tacomas. However, as much as I liked your post, I'm surprised the "politically correct" police hasn't blocked it

A friend of mine has a Tacoma with same trim as mine and same year. Only difference is the color. He has about 90k miles on his. I have close to 25k on mine.

Can't open the diamondback cover with the rack on. But that's the way I wanted it, for security when we have all our gear in there. Also liked being able to store stuff on top of the DB cover when the rack is on.

Plus with the voodoo rack it's only four bolts to take off the rack and the tent with it so I'll run with just the DB cover during the work week.

That Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic is crazy good! I put two coats of that on letting it cure before I applied the second coat and now I use the Hybrid 3-1 detailer just to maintain it. I figure I'll know when its time to use the ceramic again because I'll see a change in the water beading and gloss, but its been holding up for 2-months now.

I saw a thread somewhere on here about setting up chalk bags in this spot for large water bottles and thought I might be able to put some old surplus pouches to use as saddlebags.

It's not symmetrical on both sides due to the locking tabs being in different spots, but offers a little more space for storage for smaller things. It does leave a slight gap depending on the thickness of the MOLLE straps.

Created a heat shield and wrapped the pipe near the new 32” spare so I could store it worry free until I can afford a tire carrier bumper.9074F7C7-CEDD-4100-8082-66DF4809EDDC.jpg 3F46B67F-B592-49ED-A04E-F88A9E186F9D.jpg

Thanks for the info. Glad you're happy with it. I'm assuming that you got your new setup complete with new springs and that the spacer lift was with the stock springs, correct? Mine is still stock and trying to figure what to expect.

I came up with a fix that has worked for 3 years. I did a side pull with an extra mount to move the exhaust away from the spare towards the passenger side. See post 61775 at https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...-3rd-gen-today.399305/page-3089#post-15757239
