I just borrowed another 7.5a fuse and put it in the dome slot. Nothing. I'll wait and see what Caribe says. Appreciate all the help.

I dont trust Amazon's this fits your vehicle thingy! the initial dome light i bought was a idlumina brand too! I think that bulb caused the problem! I just noticed that stupid "Canbus Error"warning perhaps thats causing a problem!

Since you've replaced the fuse, then with a multimeter, verify power to connector R44 in the overhead console.

    Slot 15, pink wire.

I'm guessing the IC module for the map lamps is burnt. Meaning you get power to the console, but this is damaged:

How difficult is it to remove the console? Do you think the dealership will replace under warranty? Truck has less than 3k miles on it.

Not really, all the other switches and knob go through that IC board. One for some versions.

Not familiar with all the Tacoma wiring until I research for a mod I want to do. My SR has the light switch and a traction control switch on the overhead console, that’s it. Do you know what the chips are for? CanBus perhaps, to tell you the obvious that you have a bulb out? Lol. I presume my traction control switch goes to the ECM. I’m a design engineer for control systems (not automotive, learning here) and I stand by that circuit board is overkill, and poorly designed if a shorted light bulb can smoke an IC.

Now that’s a lot of stuff lol. Aftermarket lights too. It would be interesting to see what my SR board looks like.

The halves are connected with melted tabs, not really meant to be taken apart. Others have...

Not going to unless I have a need. Researching how or finding better ways to take things apart on the Tacoma has been a fun part for me of doing mods, like the SR Intermittent wiper mod, SR OEM fog light mod, etc. learned a lot here on TW about Tacoma wiring for those mods (some of it from you), as well as looking over the manual wiring diagrams. Up next is the keyless entry mod.
