I have seen several posts where people install a remote tailgate lock, but has anyone had one installed at the dealer (or somewhere else)? If so, how much was it to install?
    Thank you

I’d do it yourself, it’s well documented and only takes an hour or so. I think they only people that have had it dealer installed we’re at purchase time

Find someone handy to help you. The install is straightforward.
I bet a dealer would want a couple hundred bucks to install.

The OEM is a simple install, there are instructions on the thread for it. Check it out. The parts.toyota.com sites have free shipping and good prices if you check different dealers. You can do it!

I am zero handy and it took me about an hour and a half taking my time. As others have said, instructions are pretty straight forward. You can watch pop n lock videos because it's pretty much the same concept. Instructions can also be found on the forum.

If I recall, the dealer was saying it was going to be around $300 for them to install it when I purchased my truck. I bought it online and just did it myself.

Just installed the pop and lock. Definitely a super easy job! Save the install $ the dealer would charge you and do it yourself.

Got mine installed from the dealer where my daughter works boss told her 1/2 hr labor so it was a little over $50 to have it installed from the dealer. The senior tech even ran heat resistant insulation over the wires leading from the tailgate to the grommet under the front of the passenger side of the cab

The insulation comes on the wire harness, but $50 is still a great deal. I would have paid that much just to avoid bathing in all of the fluid film I've been spraying under my truck.

The dealer quoted me around $350 for parts and labor. Seemed kind of steep so I just bought it from them and installed it myself.
