    I have the exact same windshield rust issue with my 95. We're thinking about prefabricated a 48" x 4" replacement piece, and then cutting out the section from the roof. We'll try to match the curves and contours the best we can, then weld the patch from under the roof. The rust has actually migrated to the metal support beam under the roof, that holds the sun visors/rear view mirror, so we will need to fabricate that piece too.
